Karen Voelkel
In 1999 Karen Voelkel completed her study of veterinary medicine at the veterinary faculty of the Free University of Berlin. She founded the Tierarztpraxis am Millerntor (Veterinary Practice at Millerntor) in Hamburg – St. Pauli in early 2010, after several years of residency in various animal clinics and veterinary practices throughout Germany and continuing education at a number of veterinary training institutions.
I am constantly working to expand my knowledge to the benefit of your pet’s health through continuous training.
1992 – 1999: | Studies in veterinary medicine at the veterinary faculty of the Freie Universität Berlin. |
1999 – 2008: | Employment in small, highly professional animal practices and clinics. |
since 1999: | Regular further training in the small animal sector (especially in the areas of internal medicine, parasitology, dietetics, radiology, and laboratory diagnostics). |
since 2001: | Voluntary work for various animal welfare organizations at home and abroad. |
2002 – 2004: | Additional training in physiotherapy (physical therapy) and neural therapy at Vierbeiner Reha-Zentrum (animal rehabilitation center) in Bad Wildungen. |
2010: | Established the Tierarztpraxis am Millerntor |
since 2010: | Volunteer care for animals owned by homeless people animals. The Obdachlosen-Tierhilfe (an animal welfare organization for the homeless) is an initiative of the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (German Red Cross), the Franziskus Tierheim (St. Francis Animal Shelter) and the Tierärztekammer Hamburg (Hamburg Veterinary Chamber). |

Dr. Stephanie Götzke
Dr. Stephanie Götzke is an important part of our practice since day one and specialized in ultrasound investigations and echocardiography (heart ultrasound). If necessary, it is possible to schedule an appointment promptly.
She also works as holiday cover for us.

Anna-Lena Schumman started working in our practice as TFA (Veterinary Assistant) in 2011. Through her additional qualifications as a physiotherapist and osteopath she complements the range of services we offer.
